Job Summary
The Fitness & Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the fitness and aquatics departments, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for members and guests. This role supports programming, staff supervision, member engagement, and facility operations while maintaining the highest standards of customer service, safety, and organization. The supervisor will assist in coordinating fitness classes, aquatics programming, pool operations, and special events while promoting a positive club culture.

Fitness & Aquatics Operations
- Oversee daily operations of the fitness center and aquatics facilities.
- Ensure all fitness and pool areas are clean, organized, safe, and member-ready at all times.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating fitness classes, swim lessons, aquatic programming, and special events.
- Monitor pool operations to ensure compliance with safety standards and club policies.
- Support seasonal programming, family activities, camps, and member engagement events.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, certifications, and equipment maintenance.
Member Experience & Safety
- Provide exceptional customer service to members and guests.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment within the fitness and aquatics areas.
- Enforce club rules, safety procedures, and proper use of equipment and facilities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to member concerns, questions, and incidents.
- Ensure proper hydration, weather monitoring, and emergency procedures are followed during all activities and pool operations.
- Handle accident and incident reporting in a timely manner and communicate concerns to department leadership immediately.
Staff Leadership & Collaboration
- Assist with supervising fitness attendants, lifeguards, instructors, and support staff.
- Help train, mentor, and motivate team members to provide outstanding service and maintain safety standards.
- Work closely with the Director of Member Experience and other department leaders to coordinate club programming and events.
- Support staff scheduling, transitions, and daily operational communication.
- Promote teamwork and professionalism among all team members.
Equipment & Facility Management
- Monitor inventory and maintain fitness and aquatics equipment and supplies.
- Assist with purchasing and staying within department budgets.
- Coordinate equipment setup and breakdown for classes, events, and activities.
- Report maintenance needs and ensure timely follow-up on repairs and facility concerns.
Qualifications
- Experience working in fitness, aquatics, recreation, hospitality, or country club environments preferred.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of fitness operations, aquatics safety standards, and recreational programming.
- Ability to lead and engage both staff and members in a professional and energetic manner.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain). Lifeguard certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors and indoors for extended periods.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry equipment regularly.
- Capable of assisting with facility setup, breakdown, and operational needs.
