Group Fitness Instructor – Job Description.

Position: Group Fitness Instructor.
Location: Heathrow Legacy Club.
Compensation: $50 per class.
Schedule: Flexible, based on class offerings and facility needs.

Position Overview:

Heathrow Legacy Club is seeking enthusiastic, certified, and versatile Group Fitness Instructors to join our fitness team. We are looking for motivated individuals who are passionate about health and wellness, enjoy working with members of varying fitness levels, and can create a positive, engaging, and welcoming class environment.

Instructors must be flexible and willing to teach a variety of group fitness classes based on member interests, scheduling needs, and fitness programming.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes for members of varying ages, abilities, and fitness levels.
• Be willing and qualified to instruct multiple types of fitness classes, including but not limited to:
  • High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).
  • Aquafit / Water Aerobics.
  • Strength Training.
  • Total Body Conditioning.
  • Circuit Training.
  • Functional Fitness.
  • Cardio & Core.
  • Low-Impact Fitness.
  • Stretching & Mobility.
  • Other specialty fitness classes based on qualifications and facility needs.
• Provide appropriate exercise modifications to accommodate different fitness levels.
• Maintain a professional, energetic, and welcoming atmosphere during all classes.
• Arrive on time and be fully prepared with structured class plans.
• Ensure all equipment is used safely, properly maintained, and returned to its designated location.
• Communicate professionally with members, fitness staff, and management.
• Demonstrate flexibility in teaching different class formats and adjusting to programming needs.
• Follow all Heathrow Legacy Club policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

All Group Fitness Instructors must obtain and continuously maintain the following:

• Current nationally recognized fitness certification(s) appropriate for the classes being instructed.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Professional liability insurance with active coverage throughout the duration of their contract.
• Ability to read, understand, and sign the Heathrow Legacy Club Fitness Instructor Agreement prior to beginning instruction.
• Knowledge of proper exercise techniques, injury prevention, and safe class instruction.
• Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Willingness to teach a variety of fitness classes within their qualifications.

Compensation & Scheduling:

• Instructors will receive $50 per class taught.
• Class schedules will be determined based on member demand, instructor availability, and facility programming needs.
• Instructors must be open to teaching multiple class formats rather than being limited to one specific type of class.
• Additional classes or schedule adjustments may be offered based on facility needs.
• All instructors must comply with the terms outlined in their signed agreement.

All instructors are expected to:

• Maintain active certifications and professional liability insurance at all times.
• Provide updated documentation of certifications and insurance upon request.
• Uphold the professional standards and reputation of Heathrow Legacy Club.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive, and motivating fitness environment.
• Communicate scheduling conflicts or availability changes promptly.
• Remain adaptable as the club expands and introduces new fitness programs.
