Position Overview:
Heathrow Country Club is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and responsible Activities & Camp Coordinator to lead and facilitate a variety of programs for members, guests, and children of all ages. This high-energy role combines camp counselor duties with club-wide activity coordination, ensuring a fun, safe, and engaging environment across events, themed nights, daily activities, and summer camp programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Activities & Programs: Plan, execute, and guide structured activities for children, teens, adults, and families, including arts & crafts, sports, games, swimming, team-building exercises, and social events.
- Supervise & Engage Participants: Actively engage with campers and members, ensuring safety, inclusion, and enjoyment at all times.
- Support Leadership Staff: Collaborate with the Director of Member Experience and Camp Director to deliver scheduled programming, either independently or as part of a team.
- Set Up & Clean Up: Prepare activity spaces, materials, and equipment before activities and ensure proper cleanup and reset afterward.
- Foster Positive Atmosphere: Create a welcoming, inclusive, and fun environment, encouraging participation and positive behavior among guests and campers.
- Member & Parent Communication: Answer questions, provide guidance, and communicate effectively with members, campers, parents, and staff.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain safety protocols, administer basic first aid when necessary, and report incidents promptly.
- Documentation & Media: Assist in documenting activities, sharing photos and videos for social media or parent communications as requested.
- Use of AV Equipment: Operate microphones, music, and other audio/visual equipment to enhance activities and announcements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional recreation, hospitality, or child care experience preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience working with children, campers, or in recreation or member-facing roles.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Energetic, outgoing, and comfortable working with people of all ages.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to swim and supervise children in pool settings a plus (lifeguard certification preferred).
- Must pass a background check.
Physical & Mental Demands:
- Ability to safely lift up to 30 pounds and perform continuous walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
- Comfortable working indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and convey information clearly.
Work Schedule:
- Seasonal position running from 5/16-8/9.
- Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
